Annapurna Base Camp Trek - 12 Days

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered one of the best trekking routes in Nepal. This journey leads you to the heart of the Himalayas. This trek leads you to witness various landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and local people. you will be able to view  Mt.Annapurna which is the 10th-highest mountain in the world. The Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is regarded as one of the toughest treks in Nepal. The trek takes you to the trails which are sloppy and alongside the flowing rivers. The trail’s location falls inside the Annapurna Conservation Area.

This trek is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. This 12-day ABC Trek starts from Pokhara(City of Lakes). From there you’ll reach the towns like Ghandruk, Chhomrong, and Deurali.

After a scenic drive, you will reach Nayapul which is the starting point of the trek. From here your journey begins and reach Ghandruk. After reaching Ghandruk you’ll able to see a panoramic view of Mt.Annapurna. Moving forward you’ll reach Gurung village Chomrong. If you stay in Chomorong it offers you a short trip to the hot spring. After that, you will start the journey and reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). The final step leads you to the end of the journey, which is Annapurna Base Camp(ABC).

You’ll engage yourself in the rich tapestry of local ethnic groups, which includes Gurung, Magar, Thakali, and so on. These different cultures make your journey wonderful as you may see cultural variances in these communities.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

You will arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal. One of our representatives will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport. After that, you will be transferred to a hotel in Kathmandu. After that, you will have a brief session regarding your trek from your guide. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

After breakfast, begin a tour of Kathmandu. Visit the sacred Pashupatinath temple, the Swayambunath stupa regarded as the monkey temple, and the sleeping Vishnu(Budhanilkantha Temple). Overnight stay in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara & Evening Sightseeing

After waking up early in the morning, you will travel to Pokhara by a booked car or tourist bus, watching the green landscapes and mountains along the way. After reaching explore the beauty of  Pokhara valley. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1 hours) and trek to Ghandruk.

After breakfast, drive to Nayapul and begin the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The trail to Ghandruk offers breathtaking views, traversing sub-tropical valley forests, farmlands, and picturesque hills. Overnight in Ghandruk.

Day 05: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m)

Start your trek to Chhomrong after breakfast. Descend stone steps and cross Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge. Overnight stay in Chhomrong.

Day 06:Trek from Chhomrong to Deurali (3230m)

Today’s trek involves a steady ascent, passing through a drier forest and reaching Hinku Cave before ascending to Deurali. Enjoy spectacular views of the valley and waterfalls. Overnight in Deurali.

Day 07 :Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m ).

A pivotal day, as you climb through a riverbed and follow a steep trail to the majestic Annapurna Base Camp. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Annapurna glacier and the towering south face of Annapurna. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 08: Trek from Annapurna Base camp to Bamboo (2310m)

After breakfast, trek downhill to Bamboo. Although less challenging, the trek offers mesmerizing scenery. Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 09: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

Day 10: Jhinu Danda to Pokhara via Nayapul

You will stay in the standard hotel rooms at the start of the trek which include a shower, flush-style toilets free WIFI, and plugs to charge your accessories. As you move further to the higher altitudes the electricity will be lacking so in such situations you need to pay extra charges to charge your accessories, for the WIFI and hot water showers. The rooms in higher altitudes include facilities like Clean and Warm Beds, washrooms, etc. This facility isn’t available on other treks but you can find it in Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Foods Served during the Annapurna Base Camp Trek :

Many travelers visit the Annapurna region as it is a popular destination. The food that is found during this trek is quite simple. The menu differs from the traditional foods that are available in the village and other Western foods are also available. Mainly they serve traditional bread, eggs, potatoes, and soup during breakfast in the morning. The lunch and dinner menu includes: The national Nepali food i.e. Daal Bhat (Rice and veggies), and noodles. Fried rice, Spaghetti, Sherpa Stew sandwiches pizzas, and dumplings. Transportation required for the Annapurna Trip:

While picking you up from the airport and dropping you off at the departure date there will be a private vehicle. Besides that the flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu has a daily flight which will cost you around 118-123 USD per person for one way.
