Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest Base Camp is the dive you dip in to explore the ultimate Himalayan virtues. Everest base camp is the adventurous journey; it is especially for those dreamers who dream to feel the thrill. It’s everyone’s favorite and most desirable destination.

Everest Base Camp trek takes you to the splendid view point of the Everest range. You’ll encounter lush valleys and extraordinary views of rivers, hikes over a suspension bridge and encounter spectacular view of Flora and Fauna. Mt. Everest is located border between Nepal and China and half side of the mountain also lies on each side border. This is a supreme trekking for all those trekkers who want to explore and observe the scenic beauty of the Himalayan and culture of the inhabitants. The grandest walk in the land of the Himalayas reveals sensational mountain views and an insight into the lives of world famous climbers (the Sherpa’s).

Everest Base Camp trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is one of the busiest mountain airports while lying at altitude of 2,828m. It serves as the gateway for the Everest region and we will start our trek through the Sagarmatha National Park, which contains diversity of Flora and Fauna. It will be the best opportunity to enjoy the sight of pine forest, Rhododendron flowers and wildlife on your way to Namche Bazaar (3,440m).

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1400 meters).

Your exciting adventure in the beautiful Himalayas begins with a flight to Kathmandu. When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, representatives from or company will be there to welcome you and take you to your hotel for check-in. You will spend the night at the hotel and have time to relax and rest.

Day 2: Orientation and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.

After breakfast, we will go sightseeing in Kathmandu, which is known as the city of temples. We will visit Pashupatinath temple, Mata Gujheswori temple, and Budhanilkantha temple. After lunch, we will have time to make final preparations for the Everest base camp trek, such as checking and acquiring the necessary equipment. Our staff will assist you in case you need to buy or rent something. We will spend the night at the hotel.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters) trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3-4 hours.

Today, we will take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m). From there, we will begin our trek with a gentle climb up the mountain on the left side of the Dudh Kosi River. On the opposite bank, we can see the peak of Nupla (5885m) atop the Kongde Ridge. We will then descend along a mountainside path and join the route to Everest. Along the way, we will have stunning views of the Kusum Kang (6367m) peak and a valley to our right. We will pass through a Mani wall and reach a Ghat teahouse before continuing on a small path with several climbs and descents, following the left bank of the Dudh Kosi river until we reach Phakding, where we will spend the night at a hotel.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters) 6 hours.

Today, we will trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar which takes about five hours. We will cross the river on high suspension bridges and enter the Sagarmatha National Park to protect the mountain environment. The trek will be quite steep up to Namche Bazaar, but we will be rewarded with stunning views of Mt. Everest and other peaks like Mt. Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Kongde-Ri, and Tawache. Along the way, we will also visit some village monasteries. We will stay overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar – This is a day for Acclimatization.

We will be taking a rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization to the high altitude. It's a great place to rest before heading towards Tengboche. During this day, you can visit the Khunde Hospital set up by Sir Edmund Hillary and take a one-hour hike up to Tengboche (3800m) to see the Everest View Hotel and stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. You can also enjoy the views from the National Park Center and Museum located above the town. We will stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867m.) reckons this takes about five hours.

You'll climb through a forested area and enjoy some amazing views. The ascent becomes easier as you continue, and eventually you'll reach Tyangboche (3860m) and pass through a stone gate built by lamas. You'll spend the night at a hotel in the area.

Day 7: Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260m.) this will take approximately 5 hours.

Dingboche is a beautiful village surrounded by green fields where locals grow barley, buckwheat, and potatoes. Stone walls protect their crops from harsh winds and animals. You will spend the night at a hotel in Dingboche.

Day 8: Dingboche Acclimatization day.

We will be staying in Dingboche for an extra day to explore and get more familiar with the surroundings. This will be a day of relaxation and acclimatization to the high altitude. We will spend the day enjoying the scenery and immersing ourselves in the local culture. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to lobuche (4950m.) which takes about 5 hours.

After breakfast, the trek starts with a climb to Dughla through the Khumbu Khola Valley. Along the way, you'll get to see the beautiful Chola Lake and enjoy majestic views of Mt. Pumori and other peaks like Khumbutse, Lingten, and Mahalangur Himal. As you leave the Khumbu Glacier behind, the trail gradually climbs up to Lobuche. You'll spend the night at a hotel.

Day 10: Trek from lobuche to Gorakshep – Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) then return to Gorakshep (5170m.) 7 -8 hours.

We will continue our trek towards Gorakshep and then climb further towards Everest Base Camp. The route takes us through the changri glacier and rocky trails, with magnificent views of the Kala Pattar. After reaching the base camp, we will return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Ascend to Kalapathar (5,550m) & return to Pheriche ( 4280m) 8-9 hours trek.

We will have some tea or coffee in the early morning before hiking to Kalapathar (5545m). From here, we will witness a breathtaking sunrise and enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Everest and other famous peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Thamserku. Yaks are commonly used as porters due to the difficult terrain. Pheriche is known to be a windy town, and we will see the towering walls of Cholatse and Tawache. Additionally, the Himalayan Rescue Association Aid Post is located here, where volunteer doctors provide medical care to trekkers and locals. We will spend the night at a lodge.

Day 12: Trek from Pheriche to Monjo (2850) 5-6 hrs trek

The trail takes us through beautiful scenery and villages, as we gradually descend in altitude. This trek is relatively easy and allows us to appreciate the natural beauty of the region before arriving in Monjo, where we will spend the night.

Day 13: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (4-5 hrs trek).

We will trek from Monjo to Lukla, which takes approximately 4-5 hours. The trail is relatively easy as we descend towards Lukla, passing through beautiful landscapes and traditional villages. Once we reach Lukla, we will have some time to rest and prepare for our departure the following day.

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu

We will fly from Lukla to Kathmandu, marking the end of our Island Peak climbing journey. The flight is approximately 45 minutes long and offers stunning views of the Himalayan range. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will transfer to our hotel.
